Where’s it from?
The produce in these CSA’s is organically grown from Brothers Farm (La Grange), Coastal Plains (Ayden), Bailey Farms (Greenville), Cultivate Greenville (our newest Community Garden provider), Earth Friend Farms (Greenville), Nature’s Touch (La Grange), and from varying farms from Eastern Carolina Organics (“ECO”, Raleigh area). Meats and eggs are pasture-raised from birth to processing from Nooherooka Natural (Snow Hill), Nature’s Touch Farm (La Grange), and Harris Farm (Tarboro). Both Nooherooka and Nature’s Touch pasture-raise their beef, pork, and chicken, so their animals stay in their natural environment, eating their natural diet. Nature’s Touch offers additional benefits of supplementing with Organic, Non-GMO feed to all their animals, as well as having 100% grass-fed beef available. (Please see each farm’s page and/or website for more info.) There are other seasonal items we obtain from a few other farms, such as strawberries and figs. Other seasonal local items, and items that we order in bulk that cannot be obtained locally, some of these will be offered as “Add-ons”.

Local Marketplace Online
PLUS each week you can order from our Local Marketplace (Mon – Tue 5pm) other organic produce, and such local items as nut butters, creamery milk and more, then pick up the same day you do your CSA box!

When can I pick up?
Pick-up days are  Fridays and Saturdays each week, all day at the store. Thursdays are available by pre-arrangement (email, call, or request in notes in your online order).

We are only offering delivery to shut-ins (free),  and 2 or more CSA’s to a business address or to one neighborhood address ($25/6 week CSA for each address, no matter how many CSA’s are delivered). So, you may choose to pick up at the store Community-Supported-Agriculture-buttonon Charles each week, or choose to have your box delivered if you can find a friend to join you. We will deliver your CSA, Add-on items, or any other items ordered that week from our Local Marketplace, to your office or to a single address in your neighborhood!  Delivery area is limited to the Greenville/Winterville area only. You must include in your notes at checkout if you wish to have delivery, plus your day of preference (Fri or Sat, 2-4pm). Again, there is no delivery fee for shut-ins 🙂

We recommend telling your co-workers or your neighbors about our CSA, then forming a group of CSA’ers, then either have your boxes delivered to the office or to one address in your neighborhood – that way you can split the delivery fee, plus help us cut down on delivery time, AND help us to use less gas for deliveries!

And that’s a wrap 🙂
So, that about covers it…let’s get moving supporting our farms and the health of our bodies with DELICIOUS LOCAL ORGANICALLY GROWN & PASTURE-RAISED foods!!! 🙂

~We do not guarantee that ALL produce items listed will be in your box during your subscription period. This list is what our farms have planted for the season, and a small number will not reach harvest, due to weather conditions or pests. Keep in mind that CSA’s are designed to distribute what local farms bring to harvest, and part of the reason for the CSA is that you, the subscriber, are helping them to sell that produce in an efficient manner with little to no waste, bringing the best rewards to organic small local farms for their hard work and dedication to growing organic local food!

~B/C of the nature of CSA’s and the fact that ours run for 6 weeks (rather than the usual 12 weeks), we do not give refunds for CSA’s. CSA’s are a commitment to your local farm, that says: we support your efforts and appreciate the extra work of growing organic and the amazing fresh taste of local! There are many misconceptions about what local organic produce should be like, and, though we encourage feedback to make improvements, please keep in mind that local organic produce simply does not typically look as”pretty”, nor is it as squeaky clean, as grocery store produce. With that in mind,  we do strive to make our customers happy, and and so instead work with you in replacing any produce that you are not happy with, as with any fresh product, there will be times that it may not be up to par. Please be sure and tell us at checkout which produce items you wish to NOT get in your box out of the list provided!

~If you know you will miss weeks (out of town, etc) when signing up, we’d be happy to pro-rate your CSA at the start of your subscription. If you have an unexpected absence after you’ve started and will not be able to pick up a box one week, we ask that you have a friend pick it up…what better way to introduce them to the amazing taste of our local farms!

~Please see the individual boxes for a list of expected produce for Oct 8 – Nov 20 🙂
